You might be a Christian, if you ... let your light shine!
We live in a dark world where man's inhumanity to man seems to show up everyday in the news. Everyone is focused on themselves; and, they are willing to do whatever it takes to make them feel better even if it means robbing you of your rights, possessions or even your dignity.
If you meet someone who totally focused on others instead of himself, you stop and take notice. It's so unusual ... it puts me in the mind of someone ... let me see ... oh, could it be their love of God makes them different?
"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven." Matthew 5:16
and,
"Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world ..." Philippians 2:14-15
I personally think a person who never complains stands out like a light.
I'm always drawn to light, aren't you?
Do you remember the children's song, "This Little Light of Mine, I'm Going to Let it Shine?" Here is a version I found on YouTube. So cute!

Shine on, dear ones, shine on.

I'm always interested in your thoughts. Let me know if there is a word Christians use that you don't understand. I'd be interested to write about it.
