One of my favorite Scriptures is 2 Corinthians 2:9
But as it is written:
“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,
Nor have entered into the heart of man
The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”
I always thought this scripture was talking about the future of the child of God, the wondrous things that would happen when we finally were at home with Christ.
However, reading the whole passage of scripture in context, we find it is much more than that. Before the ages, God knew us and He had a plan. A perfect plan, which Jesus and the Holy Spirit were in agreement. Jesus would be the sacrifice for all of His children they so loved. The Holy Spirit would abide with each child and help him to know the things of God. He would help us have the mind of Christ.
What a plan! Who would have thought of such a thing?
I venture to say that if I had been the author of this plan, I would have made those who had been redeemed my slaves - yet God helps us to know great mysteries and reveals things to us. He treats us as friends - even more incredible, the word says we are joint-heirs with Christ! (See Romans 8:16-17)
If God would come up with such a marvelous, mind-blowing plan for redemption of His children, and make wonderful provision for us to grow spiritually after redemption and have our needs met, don't you think that eternity holds even more than we could ever dream?
Friend, it is no coincidence you are here walking on this planet. God loved you and knew you from the moment you began to be formed in your mother's womb. (See Psalm 139)
He knows the plans He has made for your future. Plans that will not harm but bring hope. (See Jeremiah 29:11)

Be encouraged - you can only imagine what is in store for you!

Because the plan for our lives was no coincidence, but a God-Incidence, I'm linking this post at Jennifer's website, Getting Down With Jesus.
Yes, He has great plans for us. If we only yeild to Him. If we choose our own path we are doomed to never know His Great Plan for us. Thank you for this encouragement today! Please join me for the Giving Thanks Challenge for the month of November. It is truely a blessing to me each year that I have done this one. God Bless! Monica ( I used to follow you on my old blog)

Hi Jerralea,
ReplyDeleteI love 2 Cor 2:9 too, especially as it applies to the "down the road" in eternity. But the more I write (and fret over new things to write about), He's unveiling new truths to that verse - things for the "here and now" that He wants for me.
There is so much more to Him than we could ever imagine! Thanks for the encouragement to trust Him more!
Hugs from VA,
Susan
