Daybook-05.22.12

FOR TODAY, TUESDAY MAY 22nd

Outside my window... a gorgeous spring morning.  It's cooled back down to where I love it - nights in the upper 50s and days in the mid 70s.  If only it could always be like this!

I am thinking... of how it is so tiring when every day is filled with activity ... this weekend was jam-packed and now I feel so tired ...

I am thankful...for this beautiful world that God has given us.

In the kitchen... pork chops for tonight's dinner.

I am wearing... navy pants with navy and green blouse topped with a green cardi.  I love green and navy together!

I am looking forward to... Memorial Day and having a day off!

I am learning... my limitations.

Around the house... I'm not even going to say what it is that needs to be done at my house, but if you have read my most recent daybooks ... you know!

I am pondering...

Blessed be the Lord,
Who daily loads us with benefits,
The God of our salvation! Selah
... Psalm 68:19 NKJV

I shared this verse last Friday, but I am still meditating on it.  I looked up the Hebrew on the word daily and it means from sunrise to sunset, continually and perpetually.  Then I saw that the Hebrew word for loads means to impose a heavy burden.  So, from sunrise to sunset, every day of our lives, God gives us a burden of blessings!  He is not just plopping a random blessing on you here or there, He is loading you up with blessings all day and every day of your life!

And look at the last part of the verse - He's the God of our salvation - that means deliverance.  He can save us from anything!

Think about it!  Meditate on it.  Ponder it.  I believe that once you truly get this scripture deep in your spirit, you will never be afraid again.

A favorite quote for today...

"God's benefits are not few nor light, they are loads; neither are they intermittent, but they come “daily;” nor are they confined to one or two favourites, for all Israel can say, “he loadeth us with benefits.” (The Treasury of David)

One of my favorite things...when God gives me a revelation of what His word means.

A few plans for the rest of the week: looks like my oldest daughter and I will be in St. Louis for a shopping extravaganza this weekend.  (I'm not that great a shopper so I'm praying for strength!)

A peek into my day...

Doing what we do best - being goofy!

  1. As always...thank you for sharing your Daybook. I love to catch up with you. I haven't done one in quite a while, maybe this is my inspiration. Enjoy the time with your daughter, it's not about what your doing, but who your with.
    p.s. I don't like shopping.

  2. We must live pretty close together. St. Louis is where we go for clothes shopping and Sam's! I know what you mean about the weather. But then, my garden wouldn't do very well... Memorial Day! Can't wait for a day off. But I will more than likely be in the hay fields with hubby. Hope you get rested up and have a great 3 day weekend.
