I'm closer than I've been in a long time, but I'm still struggling with many of those bad habits developed during those years. I've told my husband that I'd love to have a do-over for those few years. I missed so much. And I can't seem to conquer the worst of those habits.Christyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02908195823729570648noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1069784873554550905.post-24011978675532700132016-05-14T09:59:10.593-05:002016-05-14T09:59:10.593-05:00I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder after my son...I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder after my son was born so it is definitely a balancing act always.
It impacts our relationship in many ways and I think that for my husband - his role as a a husband has turned into so much MORE. I think you might be able to understand that. I think it's the worry, it's the being the "double parent" when I can't be the parent, it's the being the homemaker when I can't be, it's being responsible for me -- it's MORE. And I think that you being somewhat of a "caregiver" almost, you kind of get lost in the mix.
It's so important to take care of you too. It's ok to put yourself first and do things for yourself.
Make sure that you take the time for self care. It is so incredibly important! We truly appreciate the things you do for us when we are unwell. I tend to "balance" well as a general rule. But feeling "down" can lead me to a short spiral of laziness. Also, at times I latch on to a problem and do not want to let go until I solve it. My boss calls it my bulldog tendency. It has it's good points, but it can be detrimental. Other important things can fall to the wayside while I chase my answers. I have learned to shelve it or move it to a back burner. And I've found that the answers sometimes come when I am not consciously thinking of the issue and a couple of times, I have dreamed the answer!
Barbara, blogging at Life & Faith in CaneyheadBarbara In Caneyheadhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06053601327400989802noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1069784873554550905.post-20381856211425867362016-05-12T16:23:27.409-05:002016-05-12T16:23:27.409-05:00I do think we are all out of balance in some area ...I do think we are all out of balance in some area or another; that's why it is good to get a fine tuning every once in awhile and see what we need to do to get back into it.

bettybettyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06323135450742337670noreply@blogger.com
