Where has the time gone? I just realized I have not blogged in 10 days! Christmas has worn me out ...

I thought it would be nice for the fam to wish you Happy Holidays, so here are pictures of everyone taken in front of the tree:

Friday's Fave 5 - December 19, 2008

I found this fun meme at I'm an Organizing Junkie's site and I thought I'd like to participate. After all, I'm all about Fridays! Susanne over at Living to Tell the Story hosts Friday's Fave 5. We're supposed to think back over our week and tell about 5 favorite things. It can be something that happened to us, or a quote, story, or picture that we came across.

1. My first fave thing is casual Fridays. I feel so much better today wearing my fave jeans! And I bet I'm much more productive at the office. However, I must say that even though I adore casual Fridays, I still think we need to look our best in the workplace. Please don't wear jeans and sweatshirts that make me think as soon as you're done with work you are going to clean out the garage!
2. This week my hubby surprised me by coming by my office and bringing me my fave sweet tea from McDonalds. I know many of my bloggy friends prefer sweet tea from Chick Fil-A but we don't have one of those wonderful establishments in our area! Macky D's is as good as it gets!
3. It's getting closer to Christmas. Here at the church several of my wonderful friends have been dropping off goodies and gifts. I love them all, especially candles! I love me some fragrant scented candles that make my office and home smell yummy.
4. We've had ice, sleet, freezing rain, drizzle and cold temperatures, gray skies all week. But today, we have my favorite kind of weather -- a sunny day!
5. I received a text message from one of my daughters: "I love you and you're a great mom." Gotta love that!

Sincerely 'Fro Me to You - Oh, Those Sailor Dresses

It's time for Sincerely 'Fro Me to You again. Each week I have trouble deciding whether to post something cute or humiliating ...

Recently, I posted a picture of me in Junior High wearing a purple sailor dress. In keeping with my theme, here is a picture of me in grade school also wearing a sailor dress. This one is in traditional colors, but note the hairdo. My mother achieved this look for me by rolling my hair up in pink sponge rollers. And the bangs? Well, I don't remember it, but surely she put a bowl on my head and cut my bangs around it!

Friday Fill-Ins #102

1. Friends add so much to life! They are a true blessing from God.

2. Good health; it's priceless. You don't appreciate it until you or someone you love becomes ill.

3. I'm ready for another day off!

4. Honeysuckle is one of my favorite perfumes or aftershaves or smells.

5. The oldest ornament I have is a porcelain Santa Claus that my mother gave me.

6. Take some toddlers and play-dough, mix it all together and you have a mess! :)

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to getting home and hangin' with my sweetie, tomorrow my plans include shopping and Sunday, I want to regroup!

Sincerely 'Fro Me to You - Now & Then

Today is the day for the meme Sincerely 'Fro Me to You. The idea is to use pictures that wouldn't be scrapbooked. Well, the following pictures are certainly adorable enough to scrapbook, but who has the time? I certainly hope to do better about scrapbooking in 2009, but for now, I consider my blog my online scrapbook.


Today, I want to share a couple now and then pictures of my babies.





Here's a picture, now, of my two youngest girls. They are 21 months apart in age, and for the most part are great buddies. They do have their moments -- but all in all, they are very close.








Below is one of my favorite, then, pictures when they were little. In fact, this was just a few days after we brought Malia home from the hospital. Janae wanted to hold her, so we let her long enough to take this picture:

Friday Fill-Ins #101

1. Snow is beautiful the first time we have a snowfall. Then I'm ready to be done with it!

2. I'm looking forward to the next movie night with my family.

3. Christmas is the best season ever!

4. One of my favorite old tv shows is The Carol Burnett Show.

5. I'm done with condemnation. "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit." Romans 8:1

6. The most enjoyable thing around the holidays is time spent with family.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to our Ladies' Church Christmas party, tomorrow my plans include grocery shopping and perhaps putting up the tree, and Sunday, I want to enjoy resting!

Thankful Thursday - Thanksgiving

"And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:19

This Thanksgiving season I want to give praise to the Lord who always takes care of me. Things had been tight the last couple months and I had been worrying. (I know, it's wrong to worry. And I tried not to worry.) The other day while driving, I had a conversation with God and mentioned how tired I was of things being so tight. Later that day, my hubby emailed me and said that we had received an insurance refund! It was totally unexpected.

That's just like God! Over and over through the years He comes through when it was least expected. I think He gets a kick out of surprising me.

I get a kick out of testifying to His goodness.

Sincerely 'Fro Me to You

Well, I'm back! I've been out of the SFMTY game a few weeks because my computer bit the dust. Thank the Lord it's up and running again.

The last time I posted, I shared a high school picture of me that I liked. But I promised to share one of me that I didn't like. The following picture is actually a junior high picture. All I can say is "chipmunk." I don't have the heart to go over all the fashion "faux pas" in the picture. You'll have to draw your own conclusions.
