Daybook: 07.28.14

Note to my readers:  I believe in goal-setting and also on reflecting on the good things in my life which is why I do Daybooks on Monday and Friday's Fave Five on Fridays. I apologize, if any of the content seems similar to you!

FOR TODAY

Outside my window...glorious cooler weather!  Right now, it is 70° and the high is only supposed to get to 80°.  I love days like these.

I am thinking...about buying a photo printer.  Did you know that if your photographs look professional in any way even if they are not watermarked or copyrighted, places like Wal-Mart and Walgreens want a release form on file? Some of my daughter's pics of the twins, that she took herself, have looked so professional that a release form was required. I feel the problem is only going to get worse with all of us getting digital cameras and learning to use them better. Of course, I understand if a photo is copyrighted.

With all that being said, does anyone know a photo printer they could recommend?

I am thankful... for the new technology, however. It makes a grandmother living far away from her family feel much more a part of their lives.

In the kitchen... bbq country-style ribs

I am wearing... white capris and a green paisley tunic

I am creating... photo collages and bible studies on 1 Peter.

I am reading..."A Table by the Window," by Hillary Manton Lodge.

I am looking forward to...our next road trip.  It didn't work out for us to go visit our cousin's thrift shop, The Turquoise Door, located a couple hours away, last week.  Hopefully, we can go in a couple weeks.

A favorite quote for today...

Not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing. 1 Peter 3:9
As a Christian, we have been called to be a blessing. Each day, my prayer is for Him to show me what He wants me to do to bless.

One of my favorite things... long visits with my kids. This past weekend, we got to have a long lunch with our youngest daughter. Love times like those!

A few plans for the rest of the week: leading bible study on Wednesday, worship team practice Saturday, and hopefully, a couple decorating projects around the house. More on that later.

A peek into my day...

Is she thinking, "I miss Mimi?"

Peek-A-Boo!

The daybook is a concept created by Peggy Hostetler.  You can link up at her site, The Simple Woman's Daybook.

  1. Yes...I am fairly certain that your precious little one is thinking that she misses Mimi! And those adorable eyes peeking around the blanket is wishing you were there to play peek a boo in person! :)

I truly understand your appreciation of technology because we too are not in close distance physically with either of our kids families.

I enjoyed your Daybook entry, Jerralea.

  4. Such cutie pies! Isn't the weather wonderful?! I wish it would stay this way always. You take some really beautiful pictures (your daughter too) that I would invest in a printer. Otherwise I'd spend too much time in Wal**** printing them. Glad you got some good time with your youngest. Wish I lived closer to you so I could attend your bible study!
Looking forward to hearing about your decorating project. I always enjoy seeing pictures and ideas.

  5. I don't know about photo printers. So far I've not had any trouble with Walgreens and photo printing. Perhaps my photos don't look professional! (smile) Those cuties are certainly missing their Mimi! Have a great day.

  6. You bet she misses Mimi! What gorgeous pictures those are! I don't know about photo printers either. I just put the pics I want to print on my memory stick and take it to Costco. Done in an hour.
