Bloom Where You Are

Today's word is BLOOM.

Sometimes life doesn't turn out the way you planned. Those dreams of a cottage surrounded by a white picket fence corralling two kids and a crazy dog while you and the mister watch from a swing on the porch may never materialize in just the way you dreamed.

What then?

Do you spend your days bitter that you didn't have the life you envisioned?

Do you believe, as I do, that God has a plan for your life and that He directs your steps and maybe, just maybe, where you ended up was His plan all along?

This is your chance to bloom.  Thrive right where you are, embracing the life you've been given.  Make the best of things.  In fact, revel in your situation.  Find the good and focus on those things - leave those longings for a different existence back in the past.

Don't waste a single solitary second on regrets because you can't change the past.  All you can do is go forward. Forge ahead with everything you got and look for an opportunity to blossom into the beautiful creation God intended from the very beginning.

Bloom.

  1. Wise words, my friend. So many people get stuck on the past that they refuse to bloom where they are and move on. (Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier!)

  2. Great thoughts on blooming, especially if life doesn't turn out the way you thought it should. I am reminded of the advice God gave the exiles to Babylon in Jeremiah 29 to basically bloom where you are placed, to plant crops, give your children in marriage, etc.

Great thoughts here...I will say I had a hard time with this prompt...but, I wonder if a lot of everyone's posts run along the same vein.
    I think ours has. :)
